The goal for this bedroom set was to create an illusion of floating. The bed is suspended on a deeply recessed platform, while the nightstands themselves float above the floor. Integrated lighting and hanging pendants further highlight the design. The drawers are push-to-open with a sliding drawer inside, to preserve the appearance of their geometric faces. This bedroom set is made primarily of walnut, with several exotic woods used as accents. I made custom valances for the blinds and curtains to complete the architectural look.
